Youth to the People Thoughts

Hey guys. Back again doing a thoughts post. If you’re new here my name is Hayley and I post about vegan skin care, make up and fashion. Youth to the People is a vegan skin care brand that I’ve been trying for the last few months.

The two Youth to the People products we’re going to talk about are the Hydrate and Firm Eye Cream and the Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream. Both of these products are of course vegan and cruelty free!

Hydrate and Firm Eye Cream

Before I used vegan products I used the Banana Bright Eye Cream by Ole Henriksen. I loveeeee this stuff and I’m sad I can’t use it but its not vegan and I am not willing to use it anymore. This eye cream from Youth to the People doesn’t compare to that one. I know it doesn’t claim to brighten but I really love that about eye creams so maybe this just isn’t the one for me.

It’s unscented

It’s a reallllllly thick texture. You really need to rub it in and sometimes I feel like the product is just sitting on my skin. This usually causes me to wipe a lot of it off so I can put my make up on and I just feel like it’s not doing a lot for me. I think there are a lot of cheaper options that don’t sit on the skin and I’d rather spend my money on

Cost : $35.00 USD for .5 oz or 15 grams

Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream

They advertise this moisturizer for dry sensitive skin. I previously used the purple Tatcha one. This one doesn’t feel as thick as that one but who cares right?

What I loveeee about this is it doesn’t leave your face feeling sticky. I don’t wear foundation so if a moisturizer is sticky, I typically won’t use it. It’s also unscented!

For the price point, I don’t know how I feel about it. It definitely moisturizers but I feel like I have to use a lot and I’ve only used it for 4 or 5 weeks and have gone through most of it.

Cost : $58.00 USD for 2 oz or 60 grams

Ultimately you know your own skin, so never try anything just because I tell you! What I say is just something to take into consideration when trying a new brand!

Make up remover and toner

Happy April! This week we are continuing our vegan skin care journey with make up removers and toners!

Once again:) I have pretty normal skin. In the winter it’s a bit dryer and in the summer it’s a bit more oily. I can pretty much use any product and it doesn’t bother my skin, so I definitely don’t have sensitive skin.

MAKE UP REMOVER

So this is kind of a bad joke, but I actually don’t use make up remover. I think it’s super wasteful when there are other reusable products

These are the cloths I use. This 4 pack is on amazon for 10$ so they’re super affordable and when you have multiple you don’t have to worry while you’re washing one.

So these are basically some type of microfiber cloth it seems. You just have to get them wet and then take your make up off with them! They work really well and when the whole cloth is dirty you put them in the wash and they’re brand new again. So there’s really no waste involved and that’s why I love these!

Sorry if you were hoping for some good remover products but these are way better!

TONER

ELF Keep your Balance Toner

This is what I consider a “traditional” toner. Just because it’s liquid. It’s a good toner, it makes my face feel brighter for sure but it does dry out my skin, of course you put moisturizer on after so it’s no big deal. If you like liquid toner, this is definitely a good one!

ELF Prep and Hydrate Balm

I have discovered stick toners and I’m obsessed. This is the one I got in the mini kit, so if you buy this toner, it will be bigger! This is wayyy more moisturizing feeling then the traditional liquid toner which I love. You just put it on your face in circular motions and then rub in, so it’s really easy to use and you don’t need cotton balls or anything extra- which I would use with liquid toner.

This has the same scent as the face wash. It is very light, but definitely my favorite scents of any products I’ve used.

Milk Matcha Toner

This is another stick toner, and on their website they say it’s the first one ever. This is my favorite toner and I have come to use every day. It feels really moisturizing and you use it the same way as the elf one.

This one has no scent and not even the chemical no scent, I actually don’t smell anything with it which is a plus!

Kits and face wash

Hello lovelies! Over the next few weeks we are going to be doing skin care! I split it up so it’s not just one long drawn out post that you’ll probably stop reading 🙂

I have pretty normal skin. In the winter it’s a bit dryer and in the summer it’s a bit more oily. I can pretty much use any product and it doesn’t bother my skin, so I definitely don’t have sensitive skin.

First are the kits I bought!

kits

E.L.F Jet Set Hydration Kit – travel size

In this kit is: Only 15$ too!!

The daily hydration moisturizer

The daily face cleanser

The nourishing night cream

The illuminating eye cream

And the prep and hydrate balm

I’m going to be talking about these products later in this post and in the upcoming posts so stay tuned 🙂

MILK MAKEUP DELUXE INTRO SET – sample size

In this kit is: Only 9$ too!!

Deluxe vegan milk moisturizer sample (I got extra because of a promo!!)

Deluxe hydro grip primer sample: I don’t personally use primer so I had my amazing friend Kay try it! “It works nice, it makes the foundation apply on really well.” In the description they mention that it grips make up and she said it was definitely true and she saw less lines and crevices showing!

Deluxe Kush mascara sample: I’ve been looking for a vegan mascara and this is definitely a good one. It’s not the typical brush shape I use from mascaras but it definitely made my lashes longer and I have non- existent bottom lashes and it made them look better too! I do have decently long regular lashes so take that into consideration

Deluxe lip + cheek in werk sample: So this one was tricky. I use it for blush since I don’t really wear lipstick. I actually hated it at first because I couldn’t figure out how to use it, so it definitely takes some time to figure out, but now I use it every day. Once you figure it out, it works really well and its build able which I love.

I will be talking about the moisturizer in a later post! Both of these kits are amazing deals if you want to try some vegan products. Definitely recommend for both

Face wash

GLOSSIER MILK JELLY CLEANSER

This cleanser costs 18$ for the full size. I’m going to start by saying the smell is blah. I can’t tell if its unscented or has a slight flower smell to it but I hate both (I hate anything unscented).

Getting past that, I loveeee the texture. It feels like silk on my skin, which is so nice and it’s pretty thick which I also like. It does not foam up though which is something I am usually used to.

E.L.F Daily Face Cleanser

This size is the one out of the kit, but the full size costs only 4$, which is great!

This is a foaming face wash that smells amazing and makes me skin feel really refreshed. It’s a great face wash, there’s not much else to say! I like this one so much that I did buy the full size to use.
