Youth to the People Thoughts

Hey guys. Back again doing a thoughts post. If you’re new here my name is Hayley and I post about vegan skin care, make up and fashion. Youth to the People is a vegan skin care brand that I’ve been trying for the last few months.

The two Youth to the People products we’re going to talk about are the Hydrate and Firm Eye Cream and the Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream. Both of these products are of course vegan and cruelty free!

Hydrate and Firm Eye Cream

Before I used vegan products I used the Banana Bright Eye Cream by Ole Henriksen. I loveeeee this stuff and I’m sad I can’t use it but its not vegan and I am not willing to use it anymore. This eye cream from Youth to the People doesn’t compare to that one. I know it doesn’t claim to brighten but I really love that about eye creams so maybe this just isn’t the one for me.

It’s unscented

It’s a reallllllly thick texture. You really need to rub it in and sometimes I feel like the product is just sitting on my skin. This usually causes me to wipe a lot of it off so I can put my make up on and I just feel like it’s not doing a lot for me. I think there are a lot of cheaper options that don’t sit on the skin and I’d rather spend my money on

Cost : $35.00 USD for .5 oz or 15 grams

Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream

They advertise this moisturizer for dry sensitive skin. I previously used the purple Tatcha one. This one doesn’t feel as thick as that one but who cares right?

What I loveeee about this is it doesn’t leave your face feeling sticky. I don’t wear foundation so if a moisturizer is sticky, I typically won’t use it. It’s also unscented!

For the price point, I don’t know how I feel about it. It definitely moisturizers but I feel like I have to use a lot and I’ve only used it for 4 or 5 weeks and have gone through most of it.

Cost : $58.00 USD for 2 oz or 60 grams

Ultimately you know your own skin, so never try anything just because I tell you! What I say is just something to take into consideration when trying a new brand!

Milk makeup thoughts

Hey guys 🙂 Welcome back! If you’re new here, all my posts are about vegan fashion and beauty!

This week I’m going to talk about the brand MILK. I tried their products over a few weeks and I’m gonna give some thoughts about them.

The products we’re gonna talk about are the Watermelon Brightening Face Mask, the Watermelon Brightening Serum, the Melatonin Overnight Serum, the Melatonin Overnight Lip Mask, the Matcha Toner, the Kush High Volume Mascara and the Vegan Milk Moisturizer.

the Watermelon Brightening Face Mask

For how much this mask says it does, I don’t get it. I will say, I like that its not a peel off mask. It goes on really smooth and just rinses off. But, I don’t notice a difference at all. I wasn’t really impressed with this product. Especially after using other face masks that really do a lot.

the Watermelon Brightening Serum and the Melatonin Overnight Serum

I am putting these two together because honestly neither of them did anything for me. I also don’t really think using a stick serum is the cleanest thing ever. Obviously you’ll clean your face before you use them but anything that’s on your face is on that stick. Maybe I’m just a germ freak but I’m not a fan of that. And that really goes for most of these stick products.

the Melatonin Overnight Lip Mask

Okay, so I’m gonna start with the negatives. That picture is extremely deceiving and the texture is nothing like that. It makes it look like whipped and buttery and it’s just like any chap-stick. Its hard and you put it on the same way as any other one.

With that being said, I absolutely love this. I know its an overnight product but I really like it and use it pretty much whenever as my chap-stick. It smells amazing and really does help your lips.

the Matcha Toner

This is the only stick product I actually liked and used for a long time. If you have oily skin, do not use it. I have dry skin, so traditional toners dry mine out even more and this one doesn’t do that. It feels more moisturizing and my face actually felt brighter. I don’t use a toner every day but when I do use one I still use this one.

the Kush High Volume Mascara

The most I can say about this is Eh.

I have really long eyelashes so its not hard to make them look good and this one claims VOLUME but I saw no volume. It’s a basic mascara. I stick with my drug store ones.

the Vegan Milk Moisturizer

If you want a THICC moisturizer, here she is. When I say thick, it’s thick. It’s a very different texture from other ones I’ve tried before. I thought because it was so thick I would have to use less, but it’s thick and doesn’t spread easy so I really had to use more. It is very very very hydrating, so for dry skin it is really good! If you are on the oily side,I would maybe try a sample first. But overall I liked this. I was debating on getting this or the Youth to the People when I needed more and Youth won, but I wish I had this one back.
